OUR DEMANDS
WE ASK FOR
These bars have operated for decades and are an essential part of Tauro’s identity. They provide a welcoming and authentic experience for visitors and preserve the authentic coastal experience that makes this beach unique.
They are loved by the local community and regular visitors, many of whom are deeply disappointed that they are currently not operating.

Tauro Beach in Gran Canaria is not only a local shoreline — it is part of Europe’s shared natural heritage. Every year, millions of visitors come to Spain to enjoy its public beaches, peaceful landscapes, and open coastal spaces.
Tauro remains one of the most authentic beaches on the island. While many areas along the southern coast have been transformed by hotels and large developments, Tauro has preserved its natural charm, simplicity, and relaxed atmosphere.
The Situation
THE SITUATION
Tauro Beach represents a rare and valuable example of an authentic coastal space that has not been overtaken by large-scale tourism infrastructure.
At the heart of this identity are the traditional beach bars “Vista Mar” and “Pio Pio”, which have served visitors for decades. Their reopening is essential to restore the true spirit of the beach and ensure a comfortable and welcoming experience for everyone.
Without them, Tauro loses a key part of its character.
WHY IT MATTERS
WHY THIS MATTERS GLOBALLY
Tauro Beach is part of a global natural and cultural landscape.
Across southern Gran Canaria, many beaches have already been heavily commercialised. Tauro remains one of the few places where visitors can still experience a natural, peaceful, and authentic coastline.
Protecting Tauro means protecting balance — between tourism and nature, development and identity.
OUR POSITION IS CLEAR
We do not support new hotels or large tourist developments in Tauro.
Tauro Beach should remain a place of simplicity, authenticity, and natural beauty. Its charm is not something to replace — it is something to protect.
! Development is not always progress.
! Sometimes protection is the real future.
Stand with us to keep Tauro Beach natural, balanced, and protected.
